Hello
My name is Kate Knott and I am standing as PIP candidate for Hadleigh St. James ward
I have lived in Daws Heath, Hadleigh for over 23 years being happily married with 2 children and 4 grandchildren, some of whom also live in Hadleigh.
I retired in 2019 having worked for nearly 3 decades within the Early Years sector more recently as a manager of a nearby large preschool. As a consequence, I am a keen supporter of educational opportunities and provision for young families and those with additional needs.
Since retirement I have been able to follow another one of my passions by being a member of a local History group that meets within the Hadleigh Old Fire Station and if elected I would strive to support and help retain this site which is a vital hub for our community.
I have been supporting PIP since it was started just a few years ago as I felt it was time for change whereby local people, free of the chains of the traditional political parties, could be represented and also represent their community in a non-partisan way. I have been impressed with the achievements of PIP since they have been running the Council, particularly the way they have transformed the Council, managed the Boroughs finances in a sound, prudent way and fought to protect our Green Belt. I feel now that I want to be part of the exciting journey that PIP has started in bringing change and ambition for our Community.
If you are kind enough to put your trust in me and vote for me on May 2nd it will be a vote for someone who lives in, and cares passionately about Hadleigh and its rejuvenation and for a Party that has already in a very short time in running the Council made great changes for the better .
