May 2nd Local Council Elections
PIP win all 24 mainland ward councillor seats!

Achievements in the first 2 years of the CPBC Independent Administration
  • 0% CPBC portion of Council Tax increase for 2024/25 with a balanced budget.

  • Restructured the council to be more efficient, with annual savings in excess of £500k.

  • Working on the new Local Plan that enhances the borough and produces a strategy for how it will look over the next 20 years. The Castle Point Plan will be submitted on time by April 2025 and will reflect residents' views expressed through the consultation process.

  • Funded the Highway Ranger service after Conservative run Essex County Council removed funding.

  • Approved building of 7 new council houses (only 11 were built in the last 10 years).

  • Voted down the disastrous Conservative Local Plan which would have destroyed much of Castle Point's Green Belt forever.

  • Withdrew the old Conservative Local Plan.

  • Implemented the Community Infrastructure Levy on new developments to help deliver the infrastructure needed in the area. This should have been implemented years ago and would have raised around £5 to £8 million over the last 10 years.

  • £1.5M capital spending programme to rejuvenate buildings neglected over the last 20 years.

  • Enhancing and developing our community assets to ensure their long-term use and started a program of fun family events announced for 2024.
